Dalila Bernal
Dalila is Mi Escuelita’s CEO and main teacher in campus. She graduated as a teacher in her native Colombia where she worked in pre and elementary schools for over 22 years before moving to US.
At the Secretary of Education of Bogotá, Dalila lead her team to create children libraries at schools in underserved municipalities of the city.
ABOUT DALILA
Dalila specialized in Public Administration at the Superior Public Administration School in Bogota. As a graduated Social Communicator and Journalist. Dalila also worked for the Supreme Court of Justice as the editor of communications helping the state agency bring the law to its citizens.
In California Dalila co-founded Squishy Fishy Playcare, a bilingual Spanish-English preschool in Menlo Park. Being Spanish her true passion, a few years later, in 2008, she founded Mi Escuelita, a Spanish Immersion preschool and after-school program that teaches children from the bay area to become proficient and fluent in Spanish in the context of a preschool curriculum while preparing them to enter Kindergarten.
Dalila is a weekend instructor at the UC Davis Childcare at its Best Extension program. Here she has the opportunity of interacting with preschool and day care teachers and assistants, as well as with parents and caregivers from around California. She has found it to be a rewarding win-win way of learning from other educators and caregivers at the same time that sharing her experiences in early childhood development.

Patricia Robledo
Teacher Paty has been a preschool teacher for over three years before joining Mi Escuelita’s team. She shows a true love for teaching and cuddling children and is able to build a emotional connection that allows the children’s smooth adjustment to our program. Born in Mexico, teacher Paty enjoy outdoor activities specially going camping and watching movies at the auto-cinema with her 14th years old girl and her husband.
Yoana Medina
Teacher Yoana joined Mi Escuelita in 2010; since then, the children have benefit from her sweet yet firm character and teaching skills. She loves learning from the kids’ curiosity and intelligent questions. High school graduated in her native Mexico, she graduated from ECE- Early Childhood Education at Cañada College . When she is not teaching or studying, teacher Yoana enjoys gardening and dancing salsa.
